About Purchase Area
The Purchase Area is an eight-county region in West Kentucky comrprised of Ballard, Calloway, Carlisle, Fulton, Graves, Hickman, Marshall, and McCracken counties.
About the Strategy
As part of the West Kentucky Future project, the consulting team will develop a Workforce Analysis specific to the Purchase Area. This analysis will draw from research, stakeholder input, and educational assets to reveal the greatest opportunities and challenges to the Purchase Area workforce.
In the second step of the project, the consulting team will prepare a Sector Analysis specific to the Purchase Area. This analysis will examine global industry trends and regional assets to identify the business sectors with the highest potential for growth in the Purchase Area. Understanding the needs of these sectors will help existing Purchase businesses succeed and attract new businesses to the area.
These two analyses will inform a Strategic Action Plan for the Purchase Area. The Plan will provide a clear roadmap to guide partner organizations through the Purchase Area to improve workforce development and ultimately the economic health of the region.
